A Thought From The Week

A meditation session this week told me that “I am love.” The mantra caught me off guard. According to Christian scripture, God is love. I am no God (in case you were wondering) and as much as I try to love my fellowmen I certainly haven’t mastered love. Not to mention that as generally as I love myself, believe me, there is room for improvement. I felt uncomfortable repeating the phrase.
Still, I’ve been wrestling with this idea all week. Perhaps my current defination of love is incomplete. What if I am love simply because God loves me? Am I/we marked as love because we exist and God loves us? By myself I am not capital “L” but I am love, on one side of the coin. God is Love therefore I am love. Because I exist God loves me. If that is enough for Him, that is more than enough for me.
